Committed is not the same as paid
The workbook keeps both: what you have agreed to spend and what has actually left your account, so the balance still to pay is never a surprise.
Every payment has a date
Deposits, second payments and balances each get a due date. Overdue and due-soon payments are flagged, and the Dashboard shows the next one.
Room to move money
Categories over budget turn red, and a contingency line gives you somewhere to take the difference from.

to your own version.

Set the total
Enter your names, the date, the total budget and the guest count on Settings.
Split it and book vendors
Adjust category shares on Budget, then add vendors as you get quotes and mark them Booked when you sign.
Schedule payments
Add each deposit and balance with its due date. Enter the date paid when you pay it.

Short answers about how the workbook behaves.
What is a typical split?
The sample starts with venue and catering at about half the budget together. Change the shares to match your priorities.
How do I track gifts or money from family?
Add it to the total budget on Settings. The workbook tracks spending; it does not track who contributed.
Can I add a guest list?
This workbook focuses on money. Use the guest count for cost per guest; keep the guest list in a separate sheet or file.
Will it remind me when a payment is due?
It flags payments due within your window (30 days by default) when you open it. A spreadsheet cannot send reminders.
How do I keep my changes?
Use Download XLSX or PDF in the editor before closing the tab. Nothing is saved to a server automatically, and your workbook never leaves your device while you edit.
Will it work in Excel and Google Sheets?
The files use standard XLSX formulas without macros, pivot tables or external links. They are checked with the ExcelCraft engine; compatibility with every Excel or Google Sheets version is not guaranteed. Review formulas, charts and formatting in your app before relying on important figures.
Can I change the currency?
Amounts use a $ number format. Change the cell format to your currency; the formulas do not convert between currencies.
