  1. Working days, not calendar days

    Requests count weekdays only and skip the public holidays you list, so a week off is five days, not seven.

  2. Balances you can trust

    Remaining = allowance + carry-over − approved vacation in the leave year. Requests above the balance are flagged.

  3. The month on one page

    The calendar shows everyone, colour-coded by leave type, with requested days marked and busy days in amber.

GETTING STARTED

  1. Set the leave year

    Enter when the leave year starts and add your public holidays on Settings.

  2. Add employees

    List each person with their allowance and any carried-over days.

  3. Record requests

    Add requests as they come in and change the status when approved. Check the calendar for clashes.

Short answers about how the workbook behaves.

Does sick leave reduce the vacation balance?

No. Sick, personal and unpaid leave are tracked separately and do not use vacation days.

Can I record half days?

Yes. Set Half day to Yes on a one-day request and it counts as 0.5.

What if our leave year is not January?

Set Leave year starts on Settings to any date; balances count requests starting in the 12 months from then.

How many employees fit on the calendar?

20 people per calendar view; the employee list holds 500.

How do I keep my changes?

Use Download XLSX or PDF in the editor before closing the tab. Nothing is saved to a server automatically, and your workbook never leaves your device while you edit.

Will it work in Excel and Google Sheets?

The files use standard XLSX formulas without macros, pivot tables or external links. They are checked with the ExcelCraft engine; compatibility with every Excel or Google Sheets version is not guaranteed. Review formulas, charts and formatting in your app before relying on important figures.

Can I change the currency?

Amounts use a $ number format. Change the cell format to your currency; the formulas do not convert between currencies.
